Stray animals with a
collar are held for seven working days for the owner to claim.
Animals without a collar are held for four working days. After
the appropriate four or seven day period the animal becomes the
property of the Osceola County Animal Shelter. Animals that are
turned into the Osceola County Animal Shelter by the owner are
available for immediate adoption.
All adoptions are on a
first-interested party gets first opportunity - basis. You must be a minimum of 18
years old in order to adopt an animal. Every dog that is
adopted must obtain a rabies shot. Every individual that
adopts a cat must leave a $25 security deposit. Every
individual adopting a dog must leave a $35 security deposit.
The security deposit is returned if the animal is spayed or
neutered and receives required vaccinations within the time
specified at adoption. |
