Before stray animals are
placed up for adoption they are held four working days if they
come in without a collar and seven if they come in with a collar
to enable the owner time to contact us and claim his/her animal. After
the appropriate four or seven day period the animal becomes the
property of the Osceola County Animal Shelter. Animals that are
turned into the Osceola County Animal Shelter by the owner are
available for immediate adoption.
All adoptions are on a
first-interested party gets first opportunity - basis. You must be a minimum of 18
years old in order to adopt an animal. All dogs that are
adopted must obtain a rabies shot. Every individual that
adopts a cat must leave a $25 security deposit. Every
individual adopting a dog must leave a $35 security deposit.
The security deposit is returned if the animal is spayed or
neutered and receives required vaccinations within the time
specified at adoption. |
