Before stray animals are placed up for adoption they are held four working days if they come in without a collar and seven if they come in with a collar to enable the owner time to contact us and claim his/her animal.  After the appropriate four or seven day period the animal becomes the property of the Osceola County Animal Control.  Animals that are turned into the Osceola County Animal Control Shelter by the owner are available for immediate adoption.
